A Real-World Case Study: The Repair That Had Already Been Done
One case that stands out involved a 2020 Kenworth T680 that came in with a loss-of-power complaint and weak engine brakes.
The customer had recently paid to have exhaust manifold gaskets replaced. Unfortunately, the truck still had the same problem.
During our inspection, we noticed black soot around the exhaust manifold.
When we asked if the manifold had been resurfaced during the previous repair, the answer was no.
